Maintenance Planning

Maintenance Planning

Maintaining complex assets is a significant expense for most organizations.

When these assets are critical to the organization’s operations, finding the right balance between asset availability and the cost of maintenance is a significant challenge. In order to find this balance, you need insight on how your assets are currently performing, as well as how they are likely to perform in the future.

OSyS delivers this insight, helping you to find the balance between asset availability and the cost of maintenance to optimize your long-term maintenance planning. We also understand the tradeoffs necessary to achieve this balance.

The OSyS Maintenance Management solution is proven in practice, used by Rolls-Royce to support its aftermarket services. Our solution is a combination of managed services, products designed using unparalleled predictive technologies, and our superior aftermarket services domain expertise.

Maintenance Planning Benefits

The OSyS Maintenance Planning product enables organizations to develop long-term strategic maintenance plans and capacity demand forecasts. At the core of the product is an advanced forecasting capability. It provides an accurate forecast of maintenance activities, major Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MR&O) events, the level of labor, and material required to support these activities.

The forecast is derived from an analysis of the data already held in most maintenance management systems. It also uses a set of operational assumptions regarding the future usage of the assets. It can cover a fleet of assets (e.g. an airline or shipping fleet), or an interdependent configuration of assets (e.g. an oil platform or pipeline). The forecast is ultimately used to develop a credible, long-term maintenance plan and an associated financial cost model.

The OSyS Maintenance Planning product also provides scenario modeling capability to rapidly assess how changes in an operation or environment can affect the results. It supports:
  • Alignment of maintenance plans to future planned operations
  • Business scenario modeling for long-term business commitments
  • Better management of maintenance reserves
  • Better management of leased assets
  • Life-cycle cost analysis and modeling
  • Inventory demand planning and forecasting
  • Reliability analysis and projections

The OSyS Maintenance Planning product has been deployed with a major MR&O service provider to develop long-term maintenance schedules and associated budgets. Through the use of actual service data and advanced forecasting, our solution optimizes maintenance activity and maintenance budgets.
