The Qatar Science & Technology Park on the outskirts of Doha was initiated with the Qatar Foundation in 1995, with the vision of supporting and promoting technology development in an international trade-free zone. Since its opening in mid-2008, prominent global companies have committed over $200 million for research and commercialization activities over the park’s first five years. Technology and businesses supported include energy, the environment, health sciences, information and communications.
